Are they going to make a Mafia 4? ›

Back in October 2023, we discovered that Mafia 4 was in the works, with its devs using the Unreal Engine to fuel its iconic imagery. However, it isn't only Mafia 4 that's being worked on but Mafia 5 as well.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K.

Simply put, the objective of the game is for the mafia to “kill off” civilians until they are the majority, or for the civilians to kill off the entire mafia. When one of those two things happens, the game is over.

The three games in the Mafia series don't form a cohesive story, so players are free to enjoy them in any order they wish, but it might be better to play some games before others.

Tommy Angelo is influenced by the character Henry Hill from Goodfellas. Tommy is the only character from the first game to reappear in Mafia II, excluding Vito and Joe who appeared as the unnamed assassins in the first game's epilogue.

First one was set in the fictional city of Lost Heaven, second one in the fictional city of Empire City (which is heavily based on NYC). Lost Heaven was based on Chicago, I think. This one is based on San Francisco and New York City.
